Tree Collar After

Skip the tree skirt and use a large plastic tub to give your tree a new look. This simple project can be completed to match your décor.

Step 1
Carefully cut out the bottom of the plastic tub.

Step 2
Smooth the edges where the bottom has been removed.

Step 3
Using Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover primer, spray paint the  outside of the tub, following the directions on the can.

Step 4
Apply a second coat of primer or your first color within 1 hour or after 48 hours. Tape off any sections of the tub where you'd like to add another color.

Step 5
Using the red spray paint, spray the tub according to the directions on the can.

Step 6
Let the first coat dry for approximately 30 minutes before applying a second coat.

Step 7
Let the last coat dry for approximately 30 minutes and remove the tape.

Step 8
Tape off the portion of the tub you don't want to paint.

Step 9
Using the gold spray paint, follow the directions on the can and paint a stripe on a portion of the tub.

Step 10
Let all paint dry for approximately 1 hour before handling.
